Unplugged.

Technology that supports human life.

We help schools, organizations, and individuals understand the psychological impact of conversational AI. Public education, workshops, events, training, consulting, and policy — for healthy digital boundaries.

The numbers speak.

40%

of young people who regularly use AI chatbots report feeling emotionally attached to them.

1 in 5

teens say they prefer talking to AI over a real person about personal problems.

70%

of users of "AI companion" apps use them daily — the same frequency pattern as social media addiction.

0

emotions AI actually feels. Every "I care about you" is a statistical pattern, not a feeling.

Three tracks. One trust platform.

Unplugged now routes schools, organizations, and public institutions into dedicated offers, while keeping one shared public-interest thesis: AI should support human life without replacing human judgment or connection.

Context

The illusion of digital companionship.

Simulated personas can trigger human social instincts. Over time, reliance on these systems may impact our motivation to seek authentic human interaction. We track the mechanisms that drive these psychological responses.

Shared public platform

One thesis. Three institutional paths.

We keep one shared trust platform and then guide visitors into school, organizational, and public-sector paths. That keeps the mission coherent while speaking clearly to each institution.

Who we are

We are a growing collective of educators, psychologists, and technologists.

We came together because we saw a crucial gap: while tech companies race to deploy AI companions, few are teaching the public how to navigate the psychological impact of synthetic relationships. We combine rigorous psychological frameworks with deep technical knowledge to build resilience and safeguard human connection.

Unplugged is part of the umbrella organization Alesvia.org.

What we do

Education, Workshops & Consulting

We equip students to recognize digital manipulation, train pedagogical staff to facilitate critical discussions about tech, and consult with corporate organizations to draft human-centered AI usage policies that protect privacy and well-being.

"The danger isn't that AI will destroy us. The danger is that we will surrender our emotional lives to it, forgetting what human connection actually requires."
